This is, at least initially, a listing of blogs that I read fairly often (and that others found and emailed me over time). This could grow to become a little bit more than just a directory, such as news about other genealogy blogs, but the intent is not to replace any genealogy news blogs or main directories.

The Admin
I also manage RandomGenealogy.com - a site devoted to covering genealogy in the news/mainstream media.

Free Content
I prefer to link to blogs that are free to view, or at least offer some free content.

Genealogy Related
With very few exceptions, I will only link to blogs that are genealogy related. If it is a blog is useful to genealogists, I have no problem listing it. The same goes with family sites - if somebody has a family history blog that they’ve made public, that details their research, or that is a good example of a family blog, I will list it as well.

Linking to Genealogy-Blogs.org
If you are listed on this site, and you would like to link to this site, it would be great, but it’s not a requirement. This is a service provided to the genealogy community. If it’s a valuable service, people will naturally link here over time, and over time Google and Yahoo and the others will pick this site up (which probably won’t do much good anyways - searching on ‘genealogy’ and ‘blogs’ turns up 100s or 1000s of sites and this site would easily be lost among them :) )

Family Oriented
Considering how family-oriented genealogy is, I will try to follow the same theme here - if you find any blogs listed that have offensive and/or adult material, please send me an email by contacting me through the ‘Contact’ page and I will remove it.

Privacy
I have found all of these blogs either from Yahoo, Google, or through other search engines, or I have found them listed on public websites. If for some reason you do not want your blog listed here, simply contact me and I’ll remove it.

Frequency
If your blog is only updated once every six months, unless it has lots of valuable content (how-to’s, etc.) I’m probably not going to link to it. I know not everybody can write daily, but the whole point of a blog is that it is updated every now and then.
