Louis Kessler - Behold
Updated: Frequently
This is Louis Kessler’s blog that chronicles his ongoing development of his Behold Genealogy Program. If your curious about what goes on during the development of a genealogy program, especially one being developed by one person, this is a must-read. Even if you weren’t into genealogy, and were into programming, this would be an interesting read.
Legacy News
Updated: Frequently
This is a blog run by the people behind Legacy Family Tree, a commercial genealogy application. It’s not nearly as development oriented as it could be, but I’ve included it here for posterity’s sake. Some interesting stories and tips pop up here and there.
GRAMPS
Updated: Infrequently
Unfortunately this blog is only updated once a month or so, and normally I wouldn’t include it, but it shows signs of life, and GRAMPS (which is a Linux/Unix genealogy program) is a very active project. This is a contrast to some of the other blogs, because it has more than one developer involved.
MacPAF
Updated: Infrequently
A blog about the development of an updated Macintosh version of Personal Ancestral File (PAF). There was an older MacPAF available - this aims to replace that. Included here because it was recently updated, but the updates are very sporadic (and the developer explains why). If it picks up momentum, it should be interesting to follow.
